I raised the issue with Zoom support and they responded: ' The current RDP for Mac (Microsoft Remote Desktop) is provided through the Apple store and Apple places restrictions on applications they distribute. There are times when neither the client nor the plug-in’s connected status is shown, in which case, the client will operate in Fallback Mode without any media. It is possible to verify that VDI connectivity is working from the bottom left corner of the screen by checking the status of the connection. In this case, the plugin is optimized for both Zoom Phone and Zoom Meetings. Currently there is no support for Zoom VDI client on MacOS with MS RDP client (there is for Citrix and VMware Horizon though). Click this icon to see the plug-in status.
